Taguchi Method is based on quality philosophy/definition "the quality of a product is the (minimum) loss imparted by the product to society from the time the product is shipped." Quality is defined from negatif view point and with financial unit. Taguchi believes that the quality system must be distributed throughout the organization. The quality system is divided into two basic functions on line quality control (process control) and off line quality control (experimental design). This research use Taguchi Method to identify and analyze what are the factors that influence the quality characteristic of plastic thickness at Perusahaan Plastic Rajawali Surakarta. According to the research, the factors that influence the quality characteristic of plastic thickness are amount of material (kgs), speed of extruder (rpm), and speed of roll machine (rpm). Furthermore, the best setting of these parameter are: amount of material at level two (967,5 kgs), speed of extruder at level three (925 rpm), and speed of roll machine at level two (525 rpm).
