The Johor Bahru Central District Master Plan aims at restructuring the city 35 a high-technology financial centre and the gateway to the rapidly industrializing region of south Johor. When it was unveiled to the public in February 1997, Chinese organizations were dismayed to note trait all important material road named aft a prominent Chinese would be replaced by gardens and a city walk to be named after Johor's first Sultan and appealed against the removal of the road.
