A method for evaluating results of procrustean rotation to a targt factor pattern matrix in exploratory factor analysis is described. The approach is based on the bootstrap methodology. The method yields empirical approximations of the sampling distributions of : a. the differences between corresponding elements of the target and rotated factor pattern matrices, and b. the overall least - squares fit measure assessing similarity between the two matrices. The method is demonstrated on a simulated data set.
