To reach the desired value of error convergence on learning process’ of Back Propagation Network (BPN) is slow. Learning rate and momentun are dependent parameters of BPN that influence the error convergence to reach the value required. This paper discusses how to determine the learning rate and momentum of BPN in reaching the minimum error. The learning rate and momentum will be implemented to recognize the characteristic of steam flow on a boiler.
