In recent years free radicals ore believed playing an important role in most disease, including liver disease. Cell damages caused by free radical in tissue can prevent by antioxidant. Well known exogenous antioxidants are vitamin C, E and beta carotene, but the study of vitamin C is limited. The study have been done such as protection of liver sells end decreased SGOT-SGPT serum content after induced by carbontetrakhlorida (CCl4). CC14 was used a model to study damage experiment liver cell animal, because the CCl4 metabolism will produce a free radical called CCGl3. This free radicals damage of cell membrane and the finally will produce lipid per oxidation.
