The development of quality management system standard implementation as an instrument entering the international market, winning the competition. and making the quaIity improvement affects not only on manufacturing industry but also on education. Quality management system standard that is most adopted in (lie company or organization is Iso 9000. Nevertheles. Iso 9000 is not a product or service standard. hut it is a quality management system standard that is implemented to the production process to produce products or services. In the international market can be easily absorb the products or services from the organizations that have been sertified by ISO 9000. The growth of the education business partnership movement has stimulated a great deal of interest in business methodologies including ISO 9000. In this article two question will he considered. First, is BS 5750ISO 9000 applicable to education ?. Second. is it a standard which assists with the creation of a TQM culture. Edward Sallis has succeeded to adjust the terminology in ISO 9000 for educational sector named ISO 9000 - A Transaction for Education. This standard still refers to the educational process not to the standard quality of education.
