There are many methods of teaching listening. Teachers used to provide audio from the CD provided by textbook in a conventional method. Teachers played the audio recording in the language laboratory. This method does not provide myriad of language features of English speakers around the world. Teaching listening today of course needs to fit the technology development. At present, internet is one of the most helpful media in teaching listening. There are many listening teaching sources available on it that provides audio, videos and podcast. Audio also consists of some activities and transcript. Meanwhile, some examples of visual audio which are popular amongst listeners namely TED and YouTube that provide also much information as an authentic materials for them. By these, learners truly practice extensive listening.This study aims to know how extensive listening applied in EFL classroom by using internet media TED and YouTube and in what way extensive listening assist the researcher to reflect on and for his teaching practice. Method of the research is a participatory action research by interrogating both the writer and the circumstances during teaching extensive listening by changing the way of the researcher does in teaching extensive listening including the use of the media and changing the perspective of self-reflection of the lecturer which is often neglected after teaching listening. The study has been conducted to the first year EFL university students during extensive listening class. Every meeting, students were required to do extra activities to listen and download materials as homework. The results showed several changes of the teaching learning circumstances; the students found studying with YouTube and TED is very interesting; It also helped them increase their vocabularies and understand the meanings broadly, in addition, they were also exposed to English varieties and proficiencies; the method of teaching listening by YouTube and TED as wll appears to be effective listening teaching practice for listening teachers.
