In particular case, language phenomenon cannot be separated from social phenomenon. The things happened in human life will affect the way they think in which their thought will be represented by the language they uttered. The aims of this research are (1) to describe the expressive speech acts of the instagram users (Netizens) and (2) to describe the politeness strategy used by the instagram users in responding to social phenomenon of e-KTP corruption in Indonesia. This descriptive qualitative research used scrutinizing method (Metode Simak) and note taking technique in collecting the data. Some theories related to expressive speech act and politeness strategy are used to analyze the data. The result is represented by using informal method. After analyzing the data, it can be concluded that the netizens are creative in expressing their ideas through spoken and written language. Expressive speech acts and politeness strategy reflects the way the language users show their emotion by using words.
