This research is aimed to understand and explore the motivations of women from minangkabau ethnic to commit crimes and its in influences to the values of personality fare and the dignity of women and the endeavor to cope wits the problem done by law enforcement agencies and women organization in this province the fact that there is a tendency in the increasing of women crimes. This is an explorative research with description method and socio-legal approach. The data were collected t/'.rough inten1ews. Questioners and analyzed qualitatively. The result shows char the motivation of Minangkabau women to commit crimes the last five years (1992/1993 - 1996/1997) are (1) economic problem. (2) Arrestment of women fate and dignity. (3) The failure in building family life. (4) scarce of legal protection, and (5) the assistance relatives and minangkabau people to their socio- economic life.
