The aims of this research are first to define the syntactic function and the semantic roles of the consistituencies which exist in the predicative verbs that have affixes ba-, bapa-, di-, and dipa-. 'The second is to identify the usage of ba-, bapa-, di-, and dipa- in the predicative verbs. The fourth affixes are actually two pairs of affixes which con substitute each other Such us ba- to di.. and bapa- to dipa-. However this does not always conger. These cases can be found in Imperative sentences and declarative sentences in which contain the modalities. In daily conversation, there is a tendency that speaker of Minangkabau Language. to use affixes: ba- and. bapa-. This happens to true words which can be attached by the pairs of affixes: ba- and di-, and bapa- and dipa-.
