Isi artikelThis study extends the social control perspective on premarital SG by inspecting the influence of migration on sexual behavior. Data are taken from a national probability sample of single females. ages 15-19 (n = 1,287). Controls are introduced from alternative perspectives including social learning, opportunity, additional indicators of social control, and demographic variables. A logistic regression analysis found that moving was positively related 10 premarital sex. Migration may lower control through such mechanisms as weakening bonds to the community, decreasing the supply and demand of parental supervision, and increasing both loneliness and arousal.
