| This paper discusses the comparison of Fourier transformation with Wavelet transformation for image compression and image filtering. Image filtering is used for obtaining a softer and less detailed image. While image compression is used to store image efficiently. As the experiment goes, image compression which uses wavelet transformation produces smaller PNSR value and smaller size of an image than that of Fourier transformation. On the other hand, image filtering which uses Fourier transformation gives faster processing than that of wavelet transformation. However if we visualize the results, image filtering which uses wavelet transformation gives a better result. |
