In Indonesia, the well-educated societies frequently employ Western borrowing in their social interactions, as they still consider Western languages, particularly English, as superior languages. This condition, accordingly, triggers the fast development of Western borrowing in Bahasa Indonesia. Therefore, this paper will thoroughly examine the factors underlying the extensive use of Western borrowing from the perspectives of linguistics, sociolinguistic, and psycholinguistics.
