The era of globalization is quite often related to the role of an international language as a means to develop modem science and technology while at the same time it pushesng aside not only the national language but also the vernaculars. This paper is an attempt to show that the vernaculars and the local cultures do not have to be sacrificed for the development of our nation. The international, national, and regional languages have their own roles and cultural values within our society.
