Isi artikelReciprocal verbs in Javanese are discussed using Fillmore and Chafe's framework. Javanese appears to have seven types of such reciprocal verbs: (1) D, (2) D + -an, (3) D + D + -an, (4) D + D + ana, (5) -in-, (6) reduplications, and (7) compounds. One notable feature is that such verbs always occupy the predicate position and are accompanied by noun phrases. These noun phrases function as subjects, or explanations. The explanatory function can always move to another position, in particular to the right of the subject
