This article reports on the phenomenon of code-switching from Indonesian to Arabic and also from Indonesian to Minang by 26 ethnic Dais during Qur'anic recitation for the Islamic fasting month of Ramadhan as recorded by the Padang branch of Indonesian National Radio. It was found that the code-switching from Indonesia to Minang is a kind of implicature. In addition, there was evidence that the higher the level of education that the subjects had, the less code-switching occurred.
