Isi artikelPropositions are parts of meanings of declarative sentences expressing a situation with the following characteristics: (a) they can be true or false, (b) they can be trusted or doubted, and (c) they can be questioned, denied, or confirmed. From the semantic structure, a proposition has an argument in the form of a referring expression and a predicator appearing as a non-referring expression. Meanwhile, Indonesian basic sentences have grammatical subjects and predicates with nouns or pronouns normally functioning as the subjects and adjectives, numbers, and prepositional phrases as predicates. Thus, we can infer that the the structure of a proposition, which consists of an argument and a predicator, is parallel to the the basic sentence structure of Indonesian having one subject and one predicate.
