Isi artikel
We examined in congruencies between spouses' sex-role attitudes and the division of family work and their links with spouses' marital evaluations and family characteristics. Subjects were 153 couples with firstborn school-age children. Hypothesized to be "at risk" for negative marital evaluations were wives with non traditional sex-role attitudes but traditional family work roles and husbands with traditional attitudes but egalitarian roles. Analyses revealed that women und men in these "risk" groups evaluated their relationships more negatively when compared both to other women and men as well as to their own spouses. Longitudinal analyses revealed the persistence of these effects across a one-year period in the case of husbands and a two-year period in the case of wives.
