After the monetary crisis in Asia, which began in the mid of 1997, the IDR exchange rate value has been significantly dropped down towards the US$ rate. Despite the loss, this situation may reveal new opportunities, especially in the export activities. This could be ityher increasing the export quantity or negotiationg a new destination country because the selling price is very competitive. This article focuses in the use of the opportunity, especially Indonesia, whether it has been optimised or not. The model is taken from R.J. cabalerro and V.Corbo from their publication in the World Bank Economic Review. The data are collected from BPS and IMF bulletins, processed and statistically reviewed to ensure the validity. However the result shows that the opportunity has not been yet fully utilized by exporters.
