The wide spread use of internet has caused major changes in how communication (and in this case Public Relations) evolve. By reflecting on Accenture’s study towards close to 600 chief marketing officer (CMOs) on digital transformation readiness, this paper discusses the implication of digital to Public Relations on the increasing need to engage the customers and how should Chief Communication Officers (Chief PRO; CCO) adjust to be able to keep up. Recommendations to have a digital era ready PR/communication organization would be to conduct an assessment, develop a capability blue print and a road map.
