In this issue, we consider advances in autism spectrum disorder (ASD) focusing on adult outcomes and on infant siblings at risk, the behavioral phenotype of Cornelia De Lange syndrome, self-injury in neurodevelopmental disorders, cognitive decline in down syndrome, fetal alcohol spectrum disorders and the status of borderline intellectual functioning (BIF) diagnosis. The first papers in this issue are pertinent into advances in understanding ASD.
