Isi artikelSML is a W3C standard for representing data. XML schema, which describes the structure of XML data, validates the data. One suitable way to design an XML schema is by using UML model. Therefore a mechanism to map UML model onto XML schema is needed. Generally, a UML model can be mapped into several valid schemas. There are alternatives, which can be represented by UML profiles. This paper presents the mapping parts o UML models, i. e. UML Class and UML attribute, onto XML Schemas. Implementtion and an experiment show that an intended XML schema can be generated from a UML model.
