Isi artikelDevelopment of the Second Language of second language learners as part of language acquisition process has been studied for many years through various approaches and methods. For many years, linguists have attempted to measure the development by perceiving the errors compared between L1 and L2 acquisition. The early measurements came with different problems and also came with false impression of L2 development. As the approaches came in their growth, measuring the aspects of languages where development is comprehended as multi-facets development, where language development is recognized as psychological process, came across the measurement of interconnected aspects of second language by measuring complexity, accuracy, and fluency (CAF). These aspects interact time to time along the process of language development. The interaction is clearly shown in depiction of trajectories through the application of Dynamic System Theory (DST), where all aspects are computed quantitatively. DST approach proposes the dynamic interaction among its variables. The process of L2 development has been studied through writing, where L2 production is clearly observed. When CAF measurement showed different interaction in several studies by Dynamic System Theory (DST) approach in academic writing of higher education, the interaction is barely known in secondary education. This study is the continuation of a study on development of complexity and accuracy of L2 writing of a student of international master degree program in Australia. It will observe how complexity and accuracy interact and correlate in the process of writing. This small-scale study will take data from a student of an IELTS course in writing. There will be 6 writing assignments of the participant. This study will be limited to the complexity and accuracy of adjective clauses. A quantitative method will be applied to compute the result of the variables and then, based on DST approach, the result will be described in trajectories to see how they will interact during the process of observation.
