Isi artikelJeroen Groenendijk and Martin Stokhof (henceforth: G & St) have recently presented an analysis of wh-complements and that-clauses0 that differs from most earlier approaches in at least two ways: not only do they assign the same logical type to whether-, which-, who-, and that-clauses, they also suggest that a proper description of these phenomena can only be given by holding them to involve a more complex kind of intensionality than has ever been considered before. Although G & St have presented their theory in great detail, they seem to have overlooked some of its aspects and consequences. In this paper, I want to discuss a few of these.
