Along with more technology mix availability in semiconductor fabrication, un-balanced fab capacity utilization happens when there is a surge demand. By setting up a manufacturing platform and open the backup channel among the fabs with excellent quality management, we can gain overall maximum utilization and satisfy customer’s demand . The “backup” here means wafer fabrication is completed among different fabs for a single or multi-stages, just like manufacturing in one big fab. The information in this paper will demonstrate our successful achievement in performing cross-fab (backup) manufacturing through a reliable manufacturing platform.
