Isi artikelGreen environmental consciousness has been rising around the world in recent years. The Directives of environmental protection, such as WEEE, RoHS, EuP, have been mandated to force export-oriented electronic manufacturers to face green supply chain management challenges. Although Taiwanese manufacturers already possess a rich set of experience in supply chain integration and management, the regulations in the environmental mandates still prove to be a big challenge on these manufacturers’ ability to manage their supply chain. Social capital theory has proposed that supply chain efficiency would be improved through social interactions of supply chain partnerships. This study explored whether Taiwanese electrical and electronic firms could improve green management performance based on social capital perspectives. The questionnaire was adopted by this study, and objects were sampled from electrical and electronic manufacturers in Taiwan. The results of this study showed that the three constructs of social capital, such as structural capital, relational capital and cognitive capital, did impact enterprises on their green supply chain practices and influenced different types of green management performance. The contribution of this research is to propose an empirical study to examine the relationships between social capital and green supply chain management.
