Isi artikel
The objective of this research is to estimate quality of the information system in nursing care. Three Wards, implementing this information system (NISs), were compared to the other departments without adopting this system (non-NISs). A survey was conducted to evaluate quality of nursing documentation. A total of 2929 records were obtained from January 2008 to December 2009. The rates of complete records, based on the nursing processes, between NISs and non-NISs were compared first, resulting in significant difference, 97.7% of NISs and 94.06% of non-NISs. And then, the rates of accuracy between these two groups were assessed and the difference was statistically significant, NISs at 96.62% and non-NISs at 87.16%. This research proved the benefits of implementing the nursing information system.
