The purpose of this paper is to bring into limelight how Indian Literature can be connected to today’s global management practices. The aim is to move backwards and trace the relation between Indian literature and the various management principles and practices. The origin of management principles and practices can be traced from the Vedic literatures such as the Ramayana, the Mahabharata and the Puranas. These literatures were written more than 5,000 years ago in Sanskrit language and throws light on various management principles. More emphasis is given on Kautilya's Arthasastra. The paper reflects an attempt to connect the principles drawn from ancient Indian literature, with the modern management policies followed in todays’world.
