Isi artikelAngiopteris evecta (G.Forst.) Hoffm. which is often called as giant fern, elephant fern or king fern, is a very large terrestrial fern. The size of rhizomes can reach 1m and the leaves can reach 8 m in length. This plant reproduce vegetatively by using aurikels on the rhizomes, and generatively by using spores. Giant fern has many uses, including as an ornamental plant, food, traditional medicine, fragrance, and bouquets. In Australia this species is considered as rare plant, but in Hawaii, Costa Rica and Jamaica, this species has become invasive and disturbing for the growth of other plants.
