Over the past decade there has been an increase in international interest in preventing and combating money laundering. Since the late 80’s a broad international offensive against the phenomenon of money laundering was opened. In 1988 the United Nations Treaty against Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psycho tropic Substances, know as the Vienna Convention, was issued.
