As most Indonesia students have more exposure to the spoken rather than the written language, one may recognize instances of a spoke language being written down instead of a product of a written language. traces of the spoken language system, which one may actually not only come across in the students' writing, but also in for example, Indonesian newspapers, are identified and described in the present paper. The sample texts under correction are presented in pairs with a possible adjustment to comply with what the written languages requires. The pairs of the examples may be helpful for anyone who wish to learn more of the written language system and to find a path for learning how to improve their writing skill.
