Topik: Genre; kaba; LFS Ketersediaan Perpustakaan PKBB Nomor Panggil: 406 ISO 1 Non-tandon: tidak ada Tandon: 1  Lihat Detail Induk Isi artikel The purpose of this research were (1) to describe the purpose of the social function of the Kaba Puti Nilam Tjajo dengan Dang Tuanku Gombang Alam (shortened with "kaba PD" ); (2) to describe the schematical structure of the genreor the cultural stages to achieve the social function of the kaba PD and (3) was to describe the lexiogramatical realization and the discourse choice involved in the structure of the kaba PD. This genre research was the qualitative research with the descriptive feature. The data in this research were all of the written texts of the kaba PD composed by Sjamsuddin Sutan Radjo Endah. The method used in collecting the research data was the observational method. The analyzing method in this research used the theoretical model of LFS Halliday. The presenting methods from the result of the analysis were in the forms of the statistical percentage of the tables and the description with the common words (informal method). The findings og this research were (1) the genre type the kaba PD categorized into narrative genre with the fictional features that had the purposes to amuse and to send the knowledge or the morale message through the past event problems to the readers; (2) the kaba PD had the schematical structures or the cultural stages consisted of abstract - orientation - evaluation - complication - evaluation - resolution - coda with the long chains; (3) the lexicogramatical realization and the dominant discourse had the focus to specific participants, used the material process, and the locational circumstance (time and place).
