This study examines the relationship between government spending and economic growth of 33 provinces in Indonesia for the time period 2001-2008. The analytical framework used in this study was based on Wagner’s Law which posits that government spending positively affects economic growth. A simple panel regression result confirms the existence of a positive relationship between government spending and economic growth thus provides support to Wagner’s Law.
