The imagination process often involved problem finding, problem redefining, connection, metaphor and disunite, etc. The study was to develop the imagination test for college students in the domain of interior design and try to get some implications for building norm of the imagination test. Data was collected via document analysis from the task of activating imagination. Main findings included:(1) the problem finding task activated students’ imagination (2) there were two dimensions in their responses: innovation type and performance type. The former were two levels: innovator and adaptor, and the latter were two levels: original and alternative type. Limitations of the current research and implications for future research were discussed.
