Isi artikelThis study was designed to analyze about types of adult learners based on Socio-cultural Environment theory. There are several necessities. First, we can find theoretical needs. Second, there are requirements of policy. The lifelong education is very important these days. There has been an effort to improve the quality and management of lifelong education program. We need to develop the proper contents and methods of education which meet the learners needs based on right analysis of learners. In order to achieve these goals, we divided the types of adult learners. We aimed to figure out the standard of lifelong education institution choice, preference of institution and educational contents. We tried to find these two facts. First, we will find the topographical map of adult learners based on Socio-cultural Environment theory and understand the features of environmental types. Second, we will figure out the standard of lifelong education institution choice, preference of institution and educational contents based on Socio-cultural Environment type. The results of the study are as follows: The most important part was adaptive practicalism type. They have future-oriented views and progressive thoughts, but some of them are confused between personal actions and participations in social affairs. Mostly, they belong to the middle class, so there are no financial problems. They persue the practical use, convenience and tend to have flexible thoughts. This type were 161persons, 38.2%. The second ranking part was traditional type. They have a tendency to persue the stabilization and try to keep the tradition. They put the huge importance on family concord. This type were 93 persons, 22%. The third ranking part was new middle class type and escaping type. The new middle class people try to improve their safety and life level rather than participate in social affairs and progressive activities. The people trying to escape have low financial level and hardly received any school education. They have high tendency to escape reality and refuse to adapt to customs. They were 44persons, 10.4%. We examined the standard of lifelong education institution choice, preference of institution and educational contents. The standard of lifelong education institution choice was different according to the types and this was connected to features of types. We could find out the marketing strategies based on this. Finally, this thesis suggests these facts: First, in many lifelong education institutions, they have to find out the social and cultural features of the region adult learners and than we should develop the proper programs and efficient methods. Second, we need to devise marketing strategies base on adult learners.
