Isi artikelIn the recent years in Poland, as in other countries, the accent has been placed on the issue of increasing economic activity of the people aged 50+, including extension of their employment period. The reasons for this lie, among others, in shrinking and ageing of the potential labour forces, extending life expectancy, while improving health condition of the older generation, etc. Education and training processes are inscribed in business strategies and personal business, affecting more competitive. Training interventions in the labor market, in turn, facilitate the exit from unemployment and increase labor mobility. A particular subject of the internal and external training market is a mature worker. The study was carried out among the most important stakeholders on the labour market: people aged 45+ (CAPI), employers (CATI and IDI), labour market institutions (district labour offices Powiatowy Urzad Pracy - PUPs, employment agencies, training institutions), social welfare organizational units and non-governmental organizations (IDI). Nationwide quantitative studies allowed for generalisation applicable to the whole population - respectively - for people aged 45-69 and employers. Self-evaluation of people 50+ will be referred to the opinions and judgments of other stakeholders. Employed persons 50 + are rather dissatisfied with the participation in vocational training, as well as the level of wages earned. The results of the project confirm the low interest Poles 50 + continuing education (based on EU27 countries). Only less than one in four women and one in five men in the 45-69 years WEKU are willing to retrain. A small percentage of respondents undertook in the last two years learning effort. Forms of education are mainly vocational training, computer courses and having a general nature. These activities were financed together by employers and their agents. Stakeholders in the labor market and social welfare institutions offer diversification of instruments to support training activities of 50 +. Research for the project Equal opportunities in the labour market for people aged 50+ was financed by the European Social Fund, the project was initiated by the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy in Poland, and done by the University of Lódz, the Project Partner.
