The study attempts to find correlation between Emotional Intelligence and Parental Encouragement at adolescence level. The random method of sampling was used. The sample consisted 140 junior college students both male and female (70 male & 70 Female). The tools used for measurement of variables were Parental Encouragement Scale (PES) developed by R. R. Sharma and Emotional Intelligence Scale (EIS) developed by Hyde, Pethe & Dhar. The data collected on the variables were analyzed using ‘t’ test and product moment correlation ‘r’. The results indicated that the difference between Emotional Intelligence of male and female adolescence are not significantly differ, while there is significant difference on Emotional Intelligence for both male and female adolescence those who were high on Parental Encouragement than those who were low on Parental Encouragement. The correlation between Emotional Intelligence and Parental Encouragement is positive and significant. The study concludes that Emotional Intelligence and Parental Encouragement are correlated to each other.
