Isi artikelThe education system is highly supported by great educational plan. This is because, economic growth is highly dependent on the most important asset which is people that is produced by a good education plan. These people will use their skills and significantly contribute to support economic growth. This study highlights the importance of information technology in educational planning using students’ performance monitoring. Educational planning is an important issue to be considered to develop skilled human capital (HC) in order to support economic growth. So, planning for education which is to predict students’ preference or skills achievement upon end of secondary school is proposed to address the issue. The plan focuses on student performance monitoring system which is exploiting information technology as a tool to monitor student performance in order to assist in educational planning. The plan sets out a a students direction after secondary school including the purpose, values as well as goals, targets and students’ pathways and transitions. However, traditionally there is no systematic monitoring system that support for this kind of educational plan. The study analyzed education system in countries that have a very high human development index; which also classified as advanced economies countries by the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The study propose to use predictive modeling technique which is a neural network and HC development hybrid model (Behara, 2005) to assist the educational plan which is to identify students’ academic direction, through the application of students’ performance management system.
