Isi artikel
This study is concerned the role of tourism on economic growth and income and wealth distribution. The paper builds a two-sector growth model of a small open country with tourism and heterogeneous households in a perfectly competitive economy. The economy has one service and one industrial sector. The former supplies non-traded services and the latter produces traded goods. The land is distributed between housing and supply of services. We simulate the motion of the national economy with three groups of households and examine effects of changes in the rate of interest, the price elasticity of tourism, the global economic condition, the total productivities of the service sector, and group 1’s propensity to consume housing.
