Isi artikelResults of a study on a support program for new international Chinese students at a major university in the U.S.A. are reported. The program integrates the Non-cognitive Model (Sedlacek, 2004) and the ExCEL group model (Ting, 2008). Research findings reveal that the students involved in the program had higher scores in study skills, stress coping abilities, and cultural intelligence scores than those in a comparison group. Implications for international student services, theory, and limitations are discussed.
