The Javanese used in Tegal is considered less standard compared to the one used in the cities of Surakarta and Yogyakarta. Even, there is a tendency that the farther the cities from Surakarta and Yogyakarta, the more different the langugae from the centers is. This paper is aimed at finding out the forms of imperative sentences in Javanese of Tegal. There have been several books and researches on the issue in standard Javanese, but as far as I know there is no such finding on the issue in Javanese of Tegal. By doing such a research, there will be a description the forms of imperative in Javanese of Tegal. The description will cover the similarities and differences between imperative of Javanese standard and the imperative of Javanese of Tegal. The finding will be beneficial both for the language reseraches and the practicioner, especially the the decision makers including the stake holders who are keen of using the vernacular language officially in the region in certain ceremonies and also its use in economic and social settings.
