Isi artikelAggregate production planning has rarely addressed the issues that usually happen in the Electronics Manufacturing Service (EMS) industry: high labour demand and huge fluctuation in market demand. This research proposes a complete model for EMS aggregate production planning. The model considers materials supply, material costs, production capacity constraints, transportation costs/lead time, and labour associated costs in the planning. Additionally, a multi-period planning is also designated in the model. Because various variables are considered in the model, it becomes an NP-Complete problem in the planning. Hence, distributed and parallel computing method is utilized to speed up the convergence of the solving procedure. The result indicates that the proposed aggregate production planning not only effectively responds to the high demand variation for the EMS industry, but also decreases the production cost. In addition, compared to other methods in the literature, distributed and parallel computing can approximate the optimal human resources and order allocation much faster.
