Isi artikel
This study focused on examining the lateral resistance of steel-wood-steel bolted timber joints, the main member being timber composed of several layers, each with a different specific gravity. Different spesific gravities of each layer provide different strength characteristics such as the elastic bearing constant. Influence of layer thickness on the lateral resistance of the joints is also considered in this study. Numerical analysis for the non-linear load-slip realtionship of steelwood- steel bolted timber joint was developed from the previous study. The basic theory adopted in the analysis was the generalized theory of a beam in an elastic foundation. The calculated results were compared with previous experimental results of bolted joints loaded parallel to the grain.
