Isi artikelIn Chinese philosophy, the tao is the "way" - a path to harmony. Think of intranets as the tao of your office - not a boxed solution you buy off the shelf. You probably have heard the standard definition : "An intranet is a Web site a company creates that is accessible only to its employees. Its power lies in its ability to allow departments with different systems to share information." But this reduces them to mere technological products. To create a truly useful intranet for your company, firm or client, you need to look at them as a process. It's true you need some technical skills (even if only to speak with a consultant intelligently), but first you must investigate the problems of managing information. Only if you examine the philosophy behind intranets can you create one that is a profitable investment, not an expensive toy.
