Discussion of t h e intensive course is based on an a r t i c l e by Frank M. Grittner entitled "Motivating Students in t h e Foreign Language Classroom." Like Grittner, t h e author believes t h a t students must be intrinsically motivated and t h a t each class should be an end in itself--optimum learning and an enjoyable experience.
