Isi artikelThe mental processes of idea and word association are fundamental elements of the faculties of thought and memory. They are as basic to creative work as they are to our normal functioning on the everyday level of life. The Associetional Method in Language Learning (AMLL) is a strategy aimed at mobilizing the associational abilities of the human mind in the service of language learning in general and second language learning in particular. Diverse language exercises are progrernmed to help the learner to develop his powers of association at different levels, in which he actively generates language from commonplace verbal patterns to imaginative andcreative speech. The whole mind of the learner, on its cognitive 85 well as affective side, is thus engaged in the learning process.
