Isi artikelCollege foreign language students frequently face a difficult transition when they move from the grammar text to the literary anthology. Many college students now study serious literature for the first time in the foreign language class. The instructor may find that, for these students, the introduction of the figurative language inherent in the study of literature frequently represents a greater language barrier than the foreign language itself. This article presents classroom techniques for introducing figurative language and literary analysis in the college foreign language class
