Since the release of the Standards for Foreign Language Learning in 1996, many teachers have been attempting to integrate communication, culture, connections, comparison and community standards into their classes and cum’cula. Yet, even as teachers search out innovative ways of communicating the target culture and language, connecting it with other disciplines, comparing it to US. language and culture, and using it in community contexts, it is also important to integrate the Standards into students’ and teachers’ own lives
