Isi artikelWe present two cases of semantic dementia with preserved oral reading ability. At the follow-up evaluation after one year, both cases could still read even though their language dysfunction had worsened. Our findings suggest that the preservation of the parietal lobe enables them to maintain this ability even after their semantic loss. In addition, their strong oral reading ability is helped by the transparency of the grapheme-to-phoneme conversion system in Hangul (Korean alphabet).
