Isi artikel
Although natural convermtion constitutes the very foundation of social interaction, the various studies that have been devoted to it have failed to provide a theoretically comphrehensive schema that adequately accounts for its structure. In this article the various aspects of natural conversation to Adam Kendon - ranging from the verbal to the somatic - are considered with the end in view of providing such a schema. Aspects considered include; speakerqistener intial and turn-change behavior, the listener's speaker-directed behavior, interlistener and simultaneous behaviors, and the function of the somatic systems in conversation
